Work was beginning to take a toll on her energy level, pulling slightly on her eyelids as she rolled into the main parking lot. Thank God for coffee, the girl sighed, flipping the lid of her thermos and draining its contents in just a few gulps. It burned a subtle trail down her throat before settling in her stomach peacefully. Content, she tossed her phone in the cup holder, turned off her car, pocketed her keys and headed towards the barn. Slipping her keys in her back pocket she turned to glance at her car quickly. It was one of two that her mothers new husband had sent her and was her favorite leisure car: it was a black, 1966 Mustang convertible- the top up because of the possibility of rain. Sighing happily she turned back towards the Saturn Stable, jogging across the gravel towards the main door.
It took only a minute or two to retrieve Kamikaze, who happily followed her across the parking lot. It had been too long since they did anything but ride and she was planning on a long grooming session. The ebony creature happily munched away on the rootbeer candies she had given him, following her through the other barn and to the courtyard with out hesitation. Kaze was one of the largest horses, standing at a powerful 17.2hh and looking even taller when he drew himself up. But, still, they had a strong bond that had formed over many years ago and she trusted him to follow her with out an problems, lead rope or not.
Stepping into the courtyard Kamikaze trotted to his favorite grooming post: one that allowed him to see everything going on inside and outside of the barn. Grabbing a bucket of brushes she slipped him a couple more treats before clipping him to the grooming post. It was only a few short brush-strokes later that she heard the sound of another horse in the barn aisle, turning, curious, to see who it was.
ooc; Sorry- awful post. I have such little muse at the moment : /

The wind tossed Sutton's long coffee locks as she walked down towards the barn. She needed some equine therapy and she needed it now. She could not longer deal with the things in her life that were stressing her and the only one who ever knew exactly what not to say was Tobias. Her riding boots clicked against the ground as she swayed out to the barns. Her cotton tee hung lightly to her body as she wrapped her arms around her stomach. It appeared as if poor Sutton was holding herself together. Her coffee eyes filled with tears as she walked. She would spend this summer away from her problems with her best friend. She walked into the barn and let out a low whistle. Tobias's whinny could be heard from down the barn aisle. He tossed his black mane around and slammed his chest into the door frame separating him and Sutton.
Sutton reached his stall and laid her hand on his nose. Her scent filled Tobias's nose. Sutton slid the stall door open slowly and Tobias pranced into the barn aisle throwing his mane around snorting happily. He pawed the ground happily prancing. Sutton swatted at him playfully as she grabbed his grooming tools. As a barn requirement, she hitched a lead rope to his halter and threw it over his back. Tobias would never run away from her regardless if he was near another stallion or mare. She carried his grooming tools as he pranced behind her nudging her to walk faster into the courtyard.
The pair entered the courtyard seeing another girl and her horse standing at the grooming post. Sutton grabbed Tobias's lead rope and lead him towards the grooming post. She knew that Tobias wouldn't go towards the other horse but she wasn't sure about the other. Sutton hushed Tobias as they got closer hooking him to the grooming post setting down her bucket of grooming tools. She didn't say anything for the first few moments as she dragged a brush through Tobias's mane. Finally when she crossed to the other side of him so she was facing the other girl.
Your horse is beautiful. I love how tall he is. How tall is he? asked Sutton bashfully. She was never good at starting off a conversation.

Bambi instantly recognized the girl from seeing her around the barn once or twice and, though she was almost positive the girl wouldn't recognized her, produced a small smile at the thought of her company. With her was a gelding of her own which Bambi recognized as another kind of warmblood, just like Kaze. Beneath the curry comb she brushed over his black pelt she felt Kamikaze tense at the presence of another male. Thankfully it only lasted a moment before the beast realized he was a good couple inches taller than the new arrival and settled for blowing a short breath in the new gelding's direction.
The courtyard fell silent for a couple of moments, the void filled only with the rhythmic noise of brushing before it was broken by a soft voice. Bambi stood on her tip toes in an attempt to look at the girl, though her eyes barely cleared his back and she settled for ducking under Kamikaze's neck, which was arched proudly as if he seemed to understand the girl's compliment. "Thank you," Bambi laughed, tossing the curry comb in the bucket and wiping her hands on her dark jeans. "I love his height, too. He's about 17.2 hands-high, I believe, or just a little over. Which is tall even for his breed so I got pretty lucky I guess." Leaning against the grooming post she stuffed her hands into her back pocket, glancing quickly at the girl's own horse. "He's some sort of Warmblood, too?" She asked curiously, seeing the gelding's muscular build. [/blockquote]

Sutton batted an eyelash and she continued to brush Tobias's already clean coat. Being she brushed the stallion daily, unless he rolled in the mud which he did on occasion, his coat was usually a healthy rich ebony. She rolled the curry along his back as she worked her fingers along his coat after it. It was something she had developed as a child. A sort of touch which calmed the horses even in the most desperate of hour. She believed it was what helped her develop such a strong bond with Tobias. She had helped birth Tobias back on her mother's farm. She had watched him grow since he first dropped. She batted at his ears playfully as he was starting to fall asleep. He snorted pawing playfully towards Sutton. His eyes were watching the gelding closely for any sudden movement. Tobias was not aggressive but he protected.
Sutton eyed the other powerful gelding beside them. As they clearly were discussing, he was very tall and beautiful. Sutton could tell that he and the girl were bonded like she and Tobias. She feared nothing of the two males standing by each other. She continued to curry that side of Tobias her fingers following the brush. 17.2 hands, wow. He is a very tall guy. Tobias here is only 15 hands but it is perfect for me. She said giving Tobias a little pat. She was short a mere 5'2 so getting on to a horse that was 17.2 hands would be near impossible for her. Tobias fell back into his little catnap as Sutton worked the brush and her hand around his back and neck getting any spot that may have a tiny itch or piece of dirt. Yes, he is a warmblood. Jumper, racer. Loves being active. Stubborn as ever and very protective. I am Sutton by the way and this is Tobias. I have seen you around before but I am not sure if we have talked. Sutton smiled as she dropped her curry and got out a smooth brush brushing off the loose hairs and dirt that had been moved by the curry.

Seeing the other gelding watching him closely Kamikaze returned his watchful eye, holding his head in a lofty position before Bambi gave his a solid whap on the nose with her brush. "You can't seem regal while tied to a post." She reminded him, grabbing his halter and pulling his head down. "And don't go looking for trouble, either." Kaze nudged her softly with his nose and she laughed, turning her attention back to the girl as she spoke. She nodded, her blond hair falling over her shoulder a bit, agreeing with the girl. Bambi herself stood at five-foot-eight, a height that seemed just perfect for a horse as tall as Kamikaze, though she saw that the shorter Sutton, as she had introduced herself, would be much more suited for a horse a bit shorter.
"Kamikaze is just the same: racing, jumping, being stubborn." Laughing softly she nodded again. "I do remember seeing you around but, no, I don't think we've ever properly met. It's nice to finally meet you, though. I'm Bambi and this is Kamikaze," She motioned to the beast behind her who, upon hearing his name, snorted happily. "How long have you had Tobias?" She wasn't completely sure if Tobias was one of the barn's horses or Sutton's own, but it never hurt to ask.
